 Rock-Ola Amplifier Repair.

After repairs, all amplifiers are thoroughly checked, run several hours under load, then tested for output power, distortion, hum and noise. An automatic MP3 player input can be added to all solid-state amplifiers.

Vinyl (45rpm) Jukebox amplifiers are divided into two categories, mono and stereo.

Mono amplifiers are generally from 1935 to 1962. At this age, they need all electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced. We also replace any over-heated resistors. A new power cord is installed if needed. Fuses are checked for proper value. It is recommended that you use new tubes with a freshly rebuilt amplifier for reliability and best performance. See packing instructions below for how to ship.

Stereo amplifiers are from 1960 and up and can be tube-type or solid state, vinyl or CD.

Tube-type amplifiers get the same procedure as the mono amps with the added step of completing output tube socket wiring to allow the use of 6973 or 6CZ5 output tubes.

Solid-state amps usually need all electrolytic capacitors replaced at minimum. After replacing these, the amplifier is analyzed for noise, distortion, balance, and power based on original specs. Parts are replaced as necessary to make the amp function as new.

Newer amps from CD jukeboxes have special integrated circuits and programmed parts which we have in stock. See packing instructions below for how to ship.

Pricing

Actual price depends on the model but a good rule of thumb is $30 times the number of tubes for tube-type amps plus major parts such as transformers and chokes with a $175 minimum. Solid-state amps run $175-$375 depending on the model and the problem. The price includes a basic cleaning but does not include re-painting, lettering, or any other cosmetic work. We will quote such work on request. Return shipping is not included.
NOTE: Burnt circuit boards, missing parts, physical damage, water damage, fire damage, improper fusing may require additional work and charges. An estimate will be given prior to starting the work if it will be more than the range given above. Minimum charge of $45 plus return shipping if repairs are declined.

Automatic MP3 player input.
All solid-state amplifiers can be equipped with an automatic input to play a Satellite radio or MP3 player through your jukebox when not playing records. The system will automatically switch between records and the input when selections are played. A 6' cable with 3.5mm plug is provided. This is available as an option for $75.00 with a repair or $135.00 if the only thing done. NOTE:CD jukebox amplifiers from 1992 and up have this feature built-in.
